Like many girls I have always loved dressing up. As a child I spent many happy hours in theatre dressing rooms gazing at the beautiful costumes that all played their part in a story. Dresses and stories have been synonymous for me ever since. It is so easy nowadays to see clothing as something that is easily replaced and forgotten to make way for the new, however everything we have worn has been part of our life stories in some way, clothing us as it would a character in a novel or play. Woven into the fabric becomes memories, places, people... How wonderful it would be if we could know the history of all those vintage and second hand things we buy... I have dresses that I must sell but I don't want to lose the memory that each one holds. Here is my personal space to recall each ones story as I say goodbye...

My first three ebay listings!
Today has been a productive day, I assembled a clothing rail, washed some dresses ready for sale and put three items up on ebay! Oh the excitement! One can tell I am new to the selling aspect of my dress habit! Below are the dresses that are for sale this week...
Dresses one, two and three
These were two of my Christmas 2011 outfits, one is a 20s style gold sequin dress, the red one perfectly matched our red polka dot wrapping theme! I bought the bird print ballerina dress as my interpretation of 'sport' for Sport Relief 2012- I was a ballerina, hey it counts! Any excuse for a pretty dress ;)

100 Dresses

So now each time I gather a new addition, one old one must be passed on with its memories to a new owner. So began my venture into dress selling...
